Service Times Change Soon!
Beginning Sunday, September 13
Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 13,
when we return to our Fall worship times. 1st service is still at
8:15 am and 2nd service moves to 10:30 am, and Monday evening service
remains at 6:30 pm. The Fall worship schedule allows for time in-between
services for Bible Class and Sunday School.
Sunday School and Bible Class Begins!
Beginning Sunday, September 13, in between services
We hope that all Holy Cross children will
attend Sunday School! Sunday School is for children ages 3 - high school. In
Sunday School our children learn and are reinforced in their Bible knowledge.
It’s a great setting for our public and parochial students to get to know one
another and fellowship with one another. It’s also a prime opportunity for
parents to attend Adult Bible Class while children are at Sunday School, and
instill in your children a lifelong habit of regular Bible Study with other
Christians!
No Monday Evening Worship Service on Labor Day, September 7!
Pictorial Directory
It’s still not too late to schedule an

can participate!
Photos of Circles and Committees…
Sunday, September 20
We would like to have photographs of all Holy
Cross Circles and Committees in our new pictorial directory. Group photos will
be taken in-between services on Sunday, September 20. Please stay tuned for
details.
Taxi Rides to Church
Would you like to come to church services or
another Holy Cross function, but have no way to get here, can’t ride the bus, or
don’t feel safe driving in bad weather or in the dark? Our Transportation Fund
exists for you! Just call Union Cab, 242-2000, tell them you’re a Holy Cross
member, and that you would like a ride to and from Holy Cross, and tell them to
bill it to Holy Cross. This service has been a special benefit, especially to
our senior members. If you would like to donate to this fund, gifts are
always welcome!
Grow!
At Holy Cross we offer a variety of Bible Studies in a variety of formats. We
hope that you will make it your goal to be a part of one or more of these
opportunities to grow in the Word! Watch the bulletin and newsletter for their
start dates in September!

is doing, and provides a time for enjoyable Christian fellowship. This year
Bethany wants to show the progress of the new academic building going up on the
campus and well as provide information about the newly established Christ in
Media Institute. Elections will also be held for the National Women’s Auxiliary.
Speak with Judy Meder if you are interested in attending. Thanks!

Steve Juve, a long-time member at Holy Cross,
was told he may not live beyond his teenage years.
Steve is 64 and has been living with one kidney since he was one year old. His kidney is at a functional level where soon he has to go on dialysis or have kidney transplant surgery. He is on the transplant waiting list along with 60,000 others! A kidney donor would need to be a healthy person with either B or O blood type. If you or anyone you know thinks you may be a good candidate for kidney donation and would like more information regarding Steve’s need please contact Michelle Hilbelink at michellehilbelink@alliantenergy.com
