My family moved back to Wisconsin by the time I was 3 years old and settled in Clinton, Wisconsin. I graduated from Clinton Senior High School and then from the University of Wisconsin at Platteville, with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and a math minor that allows me to teach algebra at the high school level. My first teaching job was in South Beloit, Illinois, as an aide in a special needs (behavior and learning difficulties) classroom at the high school. The next year I was hired as a traveling math teacher to two elementary schools and the high school in the North Boone School District in Illinois. At the end of that year I married Brian and moved to Sheboygan, Wisconsin. There I taught math for grades 6-8 and 6th-grade science at Christ Child Academy, a Catholic school desperately in need of teachers. After two years, my teaching career was put on hold to raise our children. I started my career at Holy Cross in the spring of 2001 as a substitute teacher. I currently teach 3rd and 4th grades. Brian and I live in Sun Prairie with our cat Snuggles. We have two children. John is a junior at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. He is studying to be a pastor. Katherine is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire. |
