I grew up in New Jersey, where my mother and most of my family still reside. I attended Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappen in New Jersey. Then I went on to Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota. I received an AA degree. From there, I finished up at Mankato State College in Mankato, Minnesota, with a bachelor of science degree. I majored in education and minored in English. I earned further graduate credits and clock hours in curriculum areas that supported my teaching curriculum. My first teaching call was to a one-room school in Jerico, Iowa. I taught grades kindergarten through 4. Then I took a call to Holy Cross in Madison, Wisconsin. I am currently in my 39th year here. I have taught every grade from 1st through 6th in different combinations. For many years I taught two grades. I have been the 2nd-grade teacher for the last few years. My extracurricular interests include music, reading, art, family, and friends. I sing in the church choir and am a member of the Esther Circle. I'm also tutoring a young woman from Mexico as part of our church's English as a Second Language program. |
