Ione Jaeger Ibeling was born in Ixonia, Wisconsin, where she grew up on a dairy farm. For all her elementary education, she attended St. Paul's Lutheran School in Ixonia. Her high school alma mater was Lakeside Lutheran in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. She graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College (now MLC) with a bachelor of science degree in education. Before her 4th year of college, Ione took an emergency call to teach at St. Peter's in Plymouth, Michigan. Her first divine call was to Mt. Calvary in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She has also taught in the Lakeville, Minnesota, public school system. Ione has continued to earn additional college credits and has participated in many workshops. She has taught for 28 years; 26 of those years have been at Holy Cross. She has experience teaching grades 3-8 and currently teaches 6th grade, as well as courses for students in grades 5 through 8.
 
Ione lives in Waterloo, Wisconsin. Her family consists of four married children, nine grandchildren, and two cats.
