I was born in Mankato, Minnesota, and attended Mt. Olive Lutheran Grade School in Mankato, Minnesota, and Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School in New Ulm, Minnesota. I earned an associate of arts degree from Bethany Lutheran College; a bachelor of arts from Mankato State University; and a master of divinity from Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary, all in Mankato, Minnesota. I came to Holy Cross in the summer of 1998 and have been here ever since. My wife Katie and I were married in December 1997. We have two children: Benjamin and Kira. I enjoy running, boating and water activities.
