What is the Scrip Program? The word “scrip” means “substitute money.” Scrip is gift certificates or gift cards from national and local retailers that you can use just like cash. They are the same as those you’d purchase from a retailer. Many popular retailers participate in scrip programs, including Texas Roadhouse, Bath & Body Works, Wal-mart, PDQ, Woodman’s, and Copp’s, just to name a few. How does Scrip raise money for our school? Because you purchase the scrip with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. Holy Cross Lutheran School receives your order, buys the scrip from Great Lakes Scrip at a discount, and then resells the certificates to our families for full face value. Scrip is exciting because everyone wins:
On Sundays between church services, you can order your scrip/certificates by filling out the family order form and submitting it with a check made out to Holy Cross Scrip for the total amount of scrip you ordered. There are additional family order forms on the PTO bulletin board located across from the church secretaries’ office. You can also bring your order to the school office any day of the week. Forms need to be to the school library on Mondays at 9 a.m. so we can place the scrip order. You also can order scrip online at Shopwithscrip.com. Any family can use the site to order script; however, to place an order, you need to create a free account. When you create your account, you also will need to enter our enrollment code: AA92932712136. When can I pick up my order? Orders you place in person will be ready for pickup on the Friday following the Monday that we submitted your order. You can pick up your scrip certificates anytime during the week from a secretary if your order is in. You also can pick up your order on Sunday mornings between services. What is cash and carry? We have PDQ, Copps, HyVee, Woodman's cards and McDonalds scrip cards on hand and available anytime during the week. Write a check to Holy Cross Scrip for the denomination you would like and we give you that exact amount back in the form of a gift card. So, if you shop at one of these retailers, please consider using scrip for this. You don’t have to wait to use them; you can take them to the store immediately and use them like cash. How can I find out more? The scrip program is a simple and effective fund-raising program for our school. If you have additional questions, please contact any member of the Parent Teacher Organization, contact one of our secretaries, or visit Shopwithscrip.com. |
