A new identity in Christ
Your first goal in building your child’s view of self is to help him see himself as a sinner. It will serve your child no possible good if you try to soft-peddle his sin-to excuse or deny it altogether. A child is not a sinner because he sins. He sins because he is a sinner. Teach him to recognize himself as a sinner, then take him to the cross of Christ.

God’s complete solution to the human dilemma of sin is found in the death, resurrection, and ascension of the Savior. In Christ, God has declared forgiveness for the entire world of sinners. He has credited our account with the perfect righteousness of his own Son. In Christ we are called holy and righteous.

When he looks at himself, your child must see a sinner. But when you point him away from himself to Jesus, then he will see his new identity, his perfect righteousness, as a child of God. Your child’s life, peace, joy, and contentment is not dependent on how he looks; it depends on where he looks. To help build your child’s view of self is to help him look away from himself and to his new self in Christ Jesus.

Mission Project
The mission project for the second semester of this school year is the WELS mission effort to support Christian schools in the Apache Land of Arizona. The money will be used to support our missionaries and teachers spreading the Gospel in the Lutheran schools at East Fork. Please set aside an offering for your child to bring. This offering is collected during our weekly chapel services.

There is no AfterSchool Care on Friday May 23. Our original school calendar is incorrect.
