Your Legacy
Overcoming obstacles
Making time for Jesus isn’t easy. Our schedules are already overloaded. But that is precisely why we need to demonstrate the importance of God’s Word on a daily basis. Our children need to see our commitment of making most needed thing of our lives a daily constant. Our message must be that no matter what comes up, our need to be reassured of God’s love in and through his holy Word is more important. We must insist that time for talking about Jesus will not be pushed aside.Sit down and plan how the Word might be heard more often in your home. Pray about it too! Do it today! Read and study God’s Word yourself. God’s Spirit will equip and strengthen you for the task of leading your family’s spiritual growth.
Purchase a reliable devotion book suitable for your children’s ages. If you cannot make time each day, select one or two days each week to gather around the Word.
Formal devotions are just one way the Word is shared. Look for other times when your talk can turn to God’s love in a less formal setting. Such moments occur all the time. Ask for God’s help in identifying these golden opportunities. Ask him to give you the courage to make the most of them.
If you become discouraged or begin to bog down, remember that God is using you to write his eternal legacy of faith in the heart of your children. Through it he will bless your children forever. And through them he will bless many generations to come.

The mission project for the first semester of this school year is the ELS
